Mark Charles & Tushar Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson)

It’s been a while since my last post and I apologize.  I was waiting to write anything until I could officially announce our new partnership, but that probably wasn’t the grandest of ideas since a) I have other things to write about and b) we were dealing with an inter-governmental agency.  Hello red tape.  So, let’s just say- we’ve been busy, the news is great, and I’m happy to be back on the blog.   It’s official folks, Across Borders is now an official working partner of the United Nations and IIMSAM in their global campaign against malnutrition!  We will be traveling to the KwaZulu Natal region of South Africa as we begin our international distribution of Spirulina (nutrient-rich algae powder supplement) to various children’s homes, AIDS squatter camps, community centers and small villages.   Across Borders will be in charge of medical registration, distribution, and follow-ups.   For more background information, please visit our website.  As the details unfold, we’ll keep you posted.  In the meantime, we have a lot to coordinate as you can imagine.  In the midst of our wait for approval from the UN,  it was a busy summer professionally and personally.   Car problems, funding hardships, numerous trying-to-sell-our-condo improvement jobs, ‘other job’ hassels – at times it’s been overwhelming to say the least.  But we made it through, Fall is here, we’re incredibly honored to be an intergral part of such a major campaign that will hopefully help thousands of people heal and eventually thrive again.   I’m headed back into my regular workout routine (this week!) to get my mind, body and spirit ready for whatever the future holds.  The natural cycle of the universe – expansion and contraction – has once again turned over and it feels good to be moving forward with momentum.   I hope you’re enjoying the perfect early Fall weather, and excited for the upcoming season’s celebrations.

Welcome July 6, 2010
